Ron Laughlin, DVM, Practice Owner
I
grew up in El Reno, OK just one block from an animal hospital. I spent
a lot of time there and eventually became an employee while in high
school. My involvement with the veterinarians, patients and owners
provided the inspiration for me to pursue a career in veterinary
medicine. I have never regretted my choice. I love my job!
I received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from OSU in 1980. My
wife, Nancy, is an elementary school teacher. We moved to Edmond in
1981 with our daughter Lindsay and our son Adam. I have been in private
practice in Edmond since that time. We have a black and tan longhaired
Dachshund named "Ollie" and a ruby King Charles Spaniel named "Jenny".
I am very grateful for the opportunity to serve the terrific people of
this community and especially their pets.
I am a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society and have
special interest in pet dentistry. I also have a variety of hobbies and
outside interests. I am a private pilot and a member of "Angel Flight"
which helps to transport patients for medical care. I am also a member
of the Experimental Aircraft Association and am building a home-built
airplane in my spare time. Nancy and I enjoy traveling on our
motorcycle, as well as skiing and boating when we have the opportunity.
We run and bike for exercise and participate in some local events. We
also support OSU athletics and attend many of the games and events. |

Brian Hall, DVM
I graduated from Oklahoma State University and have practiced
veterinary medicine in Edmond since 1991. I have a special interest in
small animal surgery.
I have served on
the Executive Board of the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association and
with the Admissions Committee of the OSU School of Veterinary Medicine.
I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. My most
rewarding service is serving as a Deacon at Heritage Presbyterian
Church.
My wife Beth and I are kept busy with two girls, Molly and Sarah.
Family time is often spent outdoors camping, fishing, and boating. Our
Labrador Retriever, "Misty" often accompanies us.
Having owned and cared for a variety of pets, from hamsters to horses,
my choice of veterinary medicine seemed a natural match. There are few
things as rewarding as taking a sick or injured pet and helping to
restore it to health. |

Donna Woods, DVM I have always loved animals and I knew I wanted a career that allowed me to spend a lot of time with them.
I have lived in Oklahoma all my life. I graduated from Durant High School and received a Bachelors degree with Honors from the University of Oklahoma. I graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 at the top of my class. I worked at a small animal practice in Oklahoma City for two years before joining Danforth Animal Hospital in 1997.
My special interest is cats, and I try to keep up on the latest in feline medicine. I seem to be able to relate with cats very well, even some that many people find difficult to handle.
I have six cats of my own. Sapphire and Tica, wich are Siamese, my favorite cat breed, and four mixed breeds, Grubby, Q, Fudge, and Peanut. I have a retired racing Greyhound, Breve, a giant Yorkie-Poo, Roy, and an adorable chocolate Chihuahua, Godiva, who has her own wardrobe. I also have Spikey, the hedgehog.
I have one son, Noah, who was born in 1996. When I am not working I spend most of my time taking care of my own pets, keeping up with my son’s activities, doing yard work, and going to Lake Eufala with my boyfriend. |

Mendy Laughlin, DVM
I was born and raised in Woodward, Oklahoma where I grew up surrounded by horses, sheep, goats, and various assortments of small animals. From a very young age I knew I wanted to be a veterinarian. Working in a veterinary clinic while attending high school fueled my passion even more. I was accepted into Oklahoma State University and received my B.S. in Animal Science in 2003 before going on to graduate with my DVM from OSU in 2006. Before joining Danforth Animal Hospital in September 2007, I worked at a small and mixed animal practice in Stillwater for a year. Veterinary medicine is a very rewarding career for me. I enjoy every day I spend with animals and their owners! You never know what adventures each day might bring!
We live in Edmond with our twin daughters, Renna and Reagan. We have two black and white painted horses, two cats, a Maltese named Laney, and a Golden Retriever named Ozzy. In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors, horseback riding, and spending time with my family and friends.

Kim Stewart, Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant
I joined the staff at Danforth Animal Hospital in April of 1998 where I work as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. I really enjoy the challenges of working with our patients. There is always something new everyday.
Coming from a military family, I have lived in different states and in Germany. My husband Josh and I married in 1997 and are raising four "four-footed children" Tank” – Doberman Pinscher, Casey- a husky, Raisin- a "terror"-I mean terrier, and Maggie- a dilute tortie domestic shorthair- all of which are rescues. When I am not busy at home, I enjoy running and spending time with my family. |

Jennifer Hicks, Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant
Growing up in a rural area north of Edmond, I developed an appreciation for all of my natural surroundings. I had several "pets" while growing up and not just the four-legged kind. This included, to my grandmother’s dismay, bringing snakes home that I would find under overturned rocks. I learned to respect nature at an early age.
When the opportunity to work for Dr. Ron Laughlin arose, I was very excited about working with the animals but did not realize all that I would learn in the process.
I began working at Danforth Animal Hospital in 1998 and for the next three years, learned more than I could imagine. I moved to Texas in 2000 and began working at an internal medicine referral practice for animals in Dallas. After several years in Texas, I decided it was time to come "home" to Oklahoma.
I had considered a job outside of veterinary medicine but soon realized that being a Veterinary Assistant is the best job ever! There is not another veterinary practice I would choose to work for but Danforth Animal Hospital. Many of the doctors and staff have been here for over ten years, not to mention the same about the clients that come here.
I returned to Danforth Animal Hospital in May of 2007. Once I started working again at the hospital, I recognized so many of the clients I had known from six years back. That says a lot about a great group of people. I am proud to be one of them again.

Kamber Orr, Veterinary Technician Student (OSU-OKC)
My family moved from Oklahoma City to Edmond when I was only four years old. To help make the transition easier for me, my parents got me a black and white tuxedo kitten. I instantly fell in love and vowed when I was older I would work in the animal hospital scene. My parents didn't take me serious, thinking I would change my mind a million times as most kids do. They knew they were in trouble and took me a little more serious when I started feeding all the strays around our country home. Today however I share my household with Roxy: a German shorthair/pit bull mix, Marae: a miniature Pomeranian, Striker: a bearded dragon, and my feline squad: Bandit, Meeka, Baby, and Chloe.
I started working at Danforth Animal Hospital in December of 2007 and have enjoyed every minute of it! I tend to "float around" working as a veterinary assistant, receptionist, and kennel attendant - lending a helping hand whenever I can. I have attended Oklahoma State University-OKC campus part time since June of 2006. I was accepted into the AVMA accredited veterinary technology program and plan to graduate May 2010. Upon graduation I will be eligible to sit for state and national boards granting Registered Veterinary Technician status upon passing. |

I joined the hospital staff in May of 2009. I was born and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma. I married my husband, Chris, in May of 2008. We share our house with a yellow lab named Stella. She is very energetic and keeps us on our toes. We love every minute of it! She has truly added so much joy to our lives. When I am not busy working, i enjoy spending time with my family.
I am very excited to be a part of such a wonderful team. I feel very lucky to be able to work around such a great staff, and so many great animals and their owners. |

Chelsea Young, Receptionist
I began working at Danforth Animal Hospital in May 2009. I graduated with honors from West Texas A&M University in 2007 with a BFA in dance. I have had the amazing opportunity to perform with ballet companies and professional theatres, as well as choreograph and teach. I am currently pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology at OSU-OKC where I will graduate in December 2010, sit for the state and national boards and earn the title of Register Veterinary Technician. My two passions in life have always revolved around animals and the arts. Complete opposites, but it is what I love to do. I have three amazing cats: Ollie, a Siamese, Olivia, and Shadow, both Domestic Short Hairs. |
